Fallkniven HK9
For a knife that hasn’t been around for a particularly long time, the Fallkniven HK9 knife has made quite a name for itself. Many hunters, bushcraft experts and military personnel around the world will testify to the superior edge retention and quality build of Fallkniven knives, and this relatively new HK9 model is proving to be one of their best yet.
Cool and clean looking, it may be understated in appearance, but the sheer quality shines through. This traditionally styled hunting/utility knife has a 3.5” drop point blade manufactured from Fallkniven’s 3G laminated powder stainless steel – one of the best blade steels that money can buy. The cutting edge is superbly sharp and it holds onto its edge incredibly well, yet is not difficult to hone when required.
One for the connoisseur
The model on test has a tough maroon micarta handle (faux ivory micarta is another option). It is well shaped to fit the hand, and is finished with a nickel silver bolster that has a single arm guard. Refined and easy to use, with no fancy extras or gimmicks. This is a hunting knife for the connoisseur, who doesn’t mind paying for the best, but expects it to last a lifetime – in fact the HK9 should last several.
Fallkniven’s designers have put a lot of work into the HK9 and it shows when you use it – solid, compact and efficient. However, perfection never comes cheap, and at £317.95 you’ll be glad that they’ve included a lanyard hole into the handle design – because you wouldn’t want to lose it!
The HK9 comes complete with a high quality, heavy duty, deep seated Scandinavian style leather sheath.
