Wasp Pellets

Wasp Pellets

Wasps were a favourite go-to general purpose pellet in the 70s and the classic dome-headed, waisted profile has served shooters admirably over the years. The original oversized specification of 5.6mm in .22 calibre, shot better in British spec barrels back in the day, but with breaks in production and a change in distributor, the brand had taken a back seat for a while. Well, that famous logo is now back, and whilst the new incarnation bears little resemblance to the Wasp of old, it looks very well made and proved consistent in weight on test.

story continues below...

Gone are the ribs on the body and the domed head is shallower, but with a top German pellet manufacturer now behind the scenes, the new Wasp pellets should find an army of fans. At 14.66-grains (the listed weight for the .22), the new pellet is heavier. However, our test sample actually came in around 15-grains, although variation pellet to pellet was impressively low, just like the .177 version.

Available in handy screw cap tins, the new Wasps should be available from most gunshops via the Bisley Shooting Products dealer network.
