Daystate 0dB Silencers

Airgun silencers are popular accessories, but it’s a fact that PCPs respond far better than spring-powered rifles when a ‘moddy’ is added at the front. Rapidly expanding air from a pneumatic can cause a significant ‘crack’ at the muzzle, yet this can be tamed down to an astonishing degree – literally to a ‘phut’ – when that air passes through the silencer.

Quality fitting
Daystate markets a range of silencers made to a correspondingly high level to complement its premium guns. However, the silencers are all supplied with a female thread specified to the popular ½” UNF fitting, which means they can be purchased as a classy add-on for any airgun sporting the necessary thread at the muzzle.
With that distinctive ‘cross hatch’ exterior design and stainless steel mesh vented section, they look super-stylish, as well as being highly functional, and the beauty of a silencer is that we can alter balance and affect handling, yet everything is easily changed back.

Variety
0dB Silencers come in a variety of specifications, to suit all the main calibres, and are manufactured from lightweight high-grade aluminium using the latest CNC machinery. The tube diameter of the main standard models is 32mm and features stylish and distinctive flutes to diffuse noise reflections. But as with most silencers, it’s the internal configuration that holds the key to performance.
Inside the body tube is a specially developed baffle system designed to dissipate air turbulence and noise, and it does this by interrupting the airflow at specific points. The muzzle report is obviously absorbed and greatly reduced, whilst the pellet continues in an unruffle state. These silencers are calibre-specific too, and machined so the bore is only slightly larger than the respective projectile diameter. Thus, less obtrusive spent air is allowed to escape and ruin the party. Close tolerances and fine engineering are the name of the game, and the 0dB Silencer has quickly gained a reputation for quality.
Recent additions to the range have been the Muzzle Compensator variants. These sport a series of diffuser vent holes around the front, and they have been designed for .25 and .30 calibre only.

Well balanced

Available in two lengths, on show here is the longer 160mm model in standard Stealth Matte Black, and it really does look superb with the anodised finish and stainless vents. They’re unlikely to unbalance a rifle combo either, with the longest model still tipping the scales at just over 5oz.
Quality accessories for sure and guaranteed to enhance any gun’s looks as well as performance.
